Why Fish Is Good For Your Dog - And What Ingredients We Use

Fish is naturally rich in Omega-3, which is vital for dogs. By exposing puppies to various fish species at a young age, they are less likely to develop a sensitivity or intolerance later on in years.

Health benefits of Omega-3:

  • Skin and coat development and maintenance
  • Joint support
  • Cognitive function
  • Visual development

Fish is an excellent protein source for puppies as nutrients like Omega-3 support their growth. As a result, puppies require a higher level of protein than adults to help them develop properly.

It's during this stage in your dog's life that the fastest and most important developments happen for the puppy. As well as Omega-3, your puppy needs the correct amount of calcium and phosphorus to ensure proper bone development. This is particularly important with large breed puppies.

With that in mind, we've created several fish dog food recipes to support your dog from a puppy into adulthood. Here is a list of our fishy ingredients and why we've chosen these ones specifically:

Blue Whiting

A North Atlantic native, the blue whiting is a sustainable, lean protein. Rich in nutrients and Omega-3, it's a delicious addition to our Doodle Puppy recipe.

It provides all the nutrients required to help your puppy grow into healthy and happy dogs. We've added sweet potato and asparagus to our recipe to ensure your dog gets plenty of extra vitamins and minerals. Our Australian Cobberdog puppies love this dry food, but it's suitable for any type of labradoodle or doodle crossbreed.

Haddock

Haddock is another high-quality protein source that is delicious and full of the following nutrients:

  • Vitamin B
  • Selenium
  • Omega-3 fatty acids

Since cod is overfished, haddock is a much more responsible and sustainable choice. It's excellent at promoting good skin and coat condition and joint health.

Our scrumptious Doodle Puppy recipe has a combination of haddock, salmon and blue whiting. It's ideal for Yorkipoos, Cobberdogs, Australian Labradoodles, Cockapoos - any doodle puppy really. It provides the correct amount of nutrients that are essential for every puppy's development.
